CLAIMS

In accordance with the above specification, all legal rights derived from the claims below are reserved.

1. A support for upholding a person's wrist(53) comprising:

a structure panel(25) that can have a substantially planar configuration, said structure panel(25) having a disjoint pair of footing edges(26) lying substantially in a direction from left to right, where bearings are taken from the user's perspective, said structure panel(25) having a side edge(27a) substantially spanning between the left extremities of said footing edges(26) and a side edge(27b) substantially spanning between the right extremities of said footing edges(26), said structure panel(25) being comprised of substantially firm material that is thin enough to be fairly flexible, so that said structure panel(25) can also readily take on an arched configuration, where said footing edges(26) are drawn nearer each other, where said side edges(27) and the body of said structure panel(25) bow upward, and where said structure panel(25) forms and straddles a concavity (31), and

a means to substantially constrain said structure panel(25) in said arched configuration.

The wrist support of claim 1 wherein the arched panel constraining means comprises a tubular stretch of material(20), said tubular stretch of material or sleeve(20) comprising flexible material, and said tubular stretch of material(20) substantially wrapping around the arched structure panel(25) and said concavity(31) by substantially hugging the convex surface ofthe arched panel(25) and the bottom face of said concavity(31), whereby said structure panel is substantially bound in said arched configuration.

Two wrist-supports as in claim 2 lying side by side, where the base materials(24) ofthe left and right sleeves(20) are substantially connected along their right and left edges respectively, said base materials(24) being substantially the portions of said sleeves(20) that underlie the concavi-ties(31 ) and the footing edges(26), whereby each coupled wrist support can uphold one ofthe user's wrists(53), whereby the coupling ofthe wrist-supports prevents them from sliding or shifting, and whereby the two individual wrist supports isolate the motion of each hand.

4. The wrist support of claim 2 wherein the material of the constraining sleeve(20) that underlies said footing edges 26 comprises vinyl comprising an anti-skid bottom surface.

5. The wrist support of claim 2 wherein the material of said sleeve(20) that wraps over the crest ofthe arched panel(25) comprises flock.

6. The wrist support of claim 2 wherein the portions ofthe constraining sleeve(20) that substantially underlie footing edges(26) comprise a substantially slick bottom surface, whereby the wrist support can readily slide.

7. The wrist support of claim 6 having a strap or belt(36) comprising flexible material, said belt(36) looping around the body of said structure panel(25) by looping over and under said side edges(27), and said belt(36) passing through the arched panel concavity(31), whereby said belt(36) may tether the user's hand to the wrist support.

8. The wrist support of claim 7 wherein the hand strap(36) comprises stretchy, resilient material.

9. The wrist support of claim 6 wherein portions ofthe constraining sleeve(20) that wrap over the crest ofthe arched panel(25) comprise an anti-skid or high friction top surface(28), whereby the wrist support will significantly tack to the user's wrist(53).

10. The wrist support of claim 1 wherein the arched panel constraining means comprises:

a substantially planar channel bed(33), said channel bed(33) having a pair of substantially rectilinear, disjoint boundaries, lying substantially in a direction from side to side, and

a pair of channel barrier means(34) to block sliding off the channel bed, said pair of channel barrier means(34) lying in one-to-one relation along said pair of boundaries, one of said footing edges(26) ofthe arched structure panel(25) substantially abutting one of said channel barrier means(34) and the other of said footing edges(26) substantially abutting the other of said channel barrier means(34), said footing edges(26) being positioned on said channel bed(33), whereby said structure panel is substantially held in said arched configuration.

11. The wrist support of claim 10 where one of said channel barrier means(34) comprises:

a means(50) to house a keypad, and

a means to substantially keep the keypad housing means(50) in a fixed position.

12. The wrist support of claim 1 wherein the arched panel constraining means comprises:

a fairly squat block(38) comprising a slab of appropriately unyielding material, and

a pair of substantially rectilinear, disjoint fillisters(40), penetrating the top of said slab(38), said fillisters(40) extending substantially in a side to side direction, one of said footing edges(26) ofthe arched structure panel(25) standing in one of said fillisters(40), the other of said footing edges(26) standing in the other of said fillisters(40), whereby said structure panel is substantially held in said arched configuration.

13. The wrist support of claim 1 wherein the arched panel constraining means comprises:

a means(50) to house a keypad(52), and

a substantially planar platform(46), said platform(46) having a front boundary and a back boundary, said boundaries being disjoint and lying substantially in a direction from side to side, and

a wall(48a) rising above said platform(46) along said front boundary, and a wall(48b) rising above said platform(46) along said back boundary, said walls(48) substantially affixed to said platform(46), and

the keypad housing means(50) and the arched structure panel(25) being seated on the plat- form(46), one of said footing edges(26) substantially abutting the front tray wall(48a) and the other of said footing edges(26) substantially abutting the front ofthe keypad housing means(50), and the back ofthe keypad housing means(50) substantially abutting the back tray wall(48b), whereby the arched structure panel(25) is substantially wedged between the front tray wall(48a) and the keypad housing means(50) which is substantially wedged between the arched structure panel(25) and the back tray wall(48b).

14. The combination of two wrist-supports as in claim 1 for use by the single user, whereby one of said wrist-supports can uphold the user's left wrist and the other of said wrist-supports can uphold the user's right wrist.

15. The wrist support of claim 1 having a gliding means to allow the wrist support to move around its supporting surface.

16. The wrist support of claim 16 having a coupling means to adequately hold the user's hand to the wrist support.

17. The wrist support of claim 1 wherein said structure panel(25) has said disjoint pair of footing edges(26) nonparallel when in said planar configuration.

18. The wrist support of claim 17 wherein said structure panel(25) is substantially trapezoidal when in said planar configuration.

19. The wrist support of claim 1 wherein said structure panel(25) comprises polyethylene.

20. The wrist support of claim 1 wherein said structure panel(25) comprises polypropylene.

21. The wrist support of claim 1 wherein said structure panel(25) comprises plastic between twenty-five thousandths and seventy-five thousandths of an inch thick.

22. The wrist support of claim 1 wherein said structure panel(25) wrist-rest comprises plastic infused with strengthening fibers(35).
