Abstract
(EN)
A gas supply for a safety device in a motor vehicle, such as an air-bag (22) comprises a bottle (1) containing compressed gas. At least one aperture (4, 5) in the wall of the gas bottle is initially sealed by means of a metallic foil (6, 7). The foil engages the outer periphery of an element (10) in the form of a piston movable within a bore (3) defined in a re-entrant portion (2) of the bottle. A pyrotechnic charge (15) is provided to move the piston (10) in response to an accident occurring. As the piston (11) moves, part (20) of the piston cuts or tears the foil (5, 6) permitting gas to escape through a flow path (21) to inflate the air-bag (22).

La présente invention concerne une alimentation en gaz destinée à un organe de sécurité tel qu'un sac gonflable (22) équipant un véhicule automobile et comportant une bouteille (1) renfermant du gaz comprimé. Une ouverture au moins (4, 5) ménagée dans la paroi de la bouteille de gaz est initialement obturée au moyen d'une feuille métallique (6, 7). Cette feuille s'accroche sur le pourtour d'un élément (10) constituant un piston mobile à l'intérieur d'un alésage (3) défini dans une partie rentrante (2) de la bouteille. Une charge pyrotechnique (15) est disposée de façon à déplacer le piston (10) en cas d'accident. Pendant le déplacement du piston (11), une partie (20) du piston vient couper ou déchirer la feuille (5, 6), ce qui permet au gaz de s'échapper par un passage d'écoulement (21) pour gonfler le sac gonflable (22).
