A dual chrominance signal processor (710) containing a direct chrominance converter (DCC) (152) that converts any format chrominance signal (C) into color difference signals (B-Y and R-Y). The DCC contains a quadrature demodulator (154), a DCC timing signal generator (100), and a plurality of switching circuits (multiplexers) (20, 30, 110) for selectively routing signals within the DCC. Optionally, the DCC contains a color under chrominance signal generator (120) for converting color difference signals into VCR format chrominance signals to facilitate recording of the video signal onto video tape.

L'invention porte sur un biprocesseur de signal de chrominance (710) comportant un convertisseur direct de chrominance (DCC) (152) convertissant tout format de signal de chrominance (C) en signaux de différence de couleur (B-Y et R-Y). Le DCC contient un démodulateur en quadrature (154), un générateur de signal de synchronisation du DCC (100) et plusieurs circuits de commutation (multiplexeurs) (20, 30, 110) permettant d'acheminer de manière sélective des signaux à l'intérieur du DCC. Ce dernier comprend, éventuellement, un générateur de signal de sous-chrominance (120) servant à la conversion des signaux de différence de couleur en signal de chrominance au format magnétoscope afin de faciliter l'enregistrement du signal vidéo sur la bande vidéo.
