Abstract
(EN)
An apparatus for determining the position and/or orientation of a transducing head (50) positioned on one side of and close to a rotating transparent-core magnetic storage disk (20). Light is introduced into the disk to establish total internal reflection therein. A detector (52) disposed on the other side of the disk opposite the head detects the intensity of light on the interior region of the disk. The detected intensity is representative of the separation of the head from the disk.

L'invention porte sur un appareil servant à déterminer la position et/ou l'orientation d'une tête transductrice (50) placée sur l'un des côtés et à proximité d'un disque magnétique de stockage transparent rotatif (20). La lumière est introduite dans le disque pour y subir une réflexion interne totale. Un détecteur (52) placé de l'autre côté du disque, à l'opposé de la tête, détecte l'intensité de la lumière présente à l'intérieur du disque, ladite intensité étant fonction de la distance entre la tête et le disque.
