Abstract

This invention is methods and systems for sensing an auditory environment using a tympanic membrane of an individual. An embodiment of a method comprises a step of dynamically sensing a displacement of the tympanic membrane in response to excitation by the auditory environment (100). An electrical signal based upon the sensed displacement is produced (102). Other embodiments for sensing tympanic displacement include laser interferometry (114) and ultrasonic ranging (130).

Cette invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes de détection d'un environnement de sensations auditives perçu par le tympan d'une personne. Dans un mode de réalisation, ce procédé consiste à détecter de manière dynamique un déplacement du tympan en réponse à une excitation provenant de l'environnement de sensations auditives (100). Un signal électrique (102) est ensuite produit, lequel est fondé sur le déplacement détecté. Dans d'autres modes de réalisation, la détection du déplacement tympanique peut faire appel à l'interférométrie laser (114) et à la télémétrie par ultrasons (130).
