Zur Imprägnierung und Konservierung von Steinmaterial wird ein wässeriges Mittel vorgeschlagen, das mindestens eine anorganische Siliziumverbindung enthält und das erfindungsgemäß aus einer elektrolythaltigen, sauren Alkalimetasilikatlösung auf wässeriger Basis besteht. Bevorzugt wird Natriummetasilikat, vor allem aber auch Kaliummetasilikat verwendet. Als Elektrolyt sind in dem Mittel Alkalimetallsalze bzw. Ammoniumsalze enthalten. Als Säure ist eine starke Säure, bevorzugt Fluorkieselsäure enthalten. Durch Zusatz von Ammoniaklösung wird der pH-Wert bevorzugt auf bis zu 2,5 angehoben. Zum Aufbau von Formkörpern auf mineralischer Basis wird eine entsprechende Lösung mit körnigen und pulverigen mineralischen Feststoffen versetzt und zu einer Knetmasse verarbeitet, die beim Stehenlassen langsam aushärtet.

The proposal concerns an aqueous agent for impregnating and preserving stonework which contains at least one inorganic silicon compound and, according to the invention, consists of a water-based electrolyte-containing, acid alkaline metasilicate solution. Preference is given to sodium metasilicate and above all potassium metasilicate. The agent contains alkaline metal salts or ammonium salts as the electrolyte. The acid is a strong one, preferably hydrosilicofluoric acid. The pH is preferably raised to up to 2.5 by the addition of ammonia solution. To construct mineral-based mouldings, granular and powdered mineral solids are added to a corresponding solution and made into a compound which slowly hardens on being left to stand.

En vue d'imprégner et de conserver un matériau en pierre, il est prévu un agent aqueux renfermant au moins un composé de silicium inorganique et constitué, conformément à l'invention, par une solution acide, à formulation aqueuse, d'un métasilicate alcalin, et contenant un électrolyte. On utilise de préférence du métasilicate de sodium et, principalement, du métasilicate de potassium. Comme électrolyte, on utilise dans cet agent, des sels de métaux alcalins ou des sels d'ammonium. Comme acide, on utilise un acide fort, de préférence, de l'acide fluosilicique. Le pH est porté de préférence à 2,5 par addition d'une solution d'ammoniaque. Pour la constitution de corps façonnés à base minérale, une solution appropriée est additionnée de matières solides minérales granulaires et pulvérulentes et transformée en un produit pâteux durcissant lentement en le laissant reposer.
