The present invention relates to a UV-reflector (12; 12') included in a UV-device (10; 10') for purification of a liquid or a gas, preferably water, said UV-reflector (12; 12'), having at least partly an elliptical cross-sectional shape, said UV-device (10; 10') including also a light source (16; 16') located in the area of one focal axis of the ellipse, said source of light (16; 16') emitting UV light, and a tube (20; 20') located in the area of the other focal axis of the ellipse, said tube (20; 20') being transparent for UV light, that purification of the liquid or gas takes place during passage through said tube (20; 20') by radiation of the liquid or gas using light from the UV source of light (16; 16'). In UV-reflectors of the type mentioned above the elliptic cross-sectional shape results in that the UV light emitted from one focal axis is reflected to the tube (20; 20') in the other focal axis. However, in the areas where the major axis (36) intersects the periphery of the ellipse reflections will occur that do not follow the desired path of reflection between the focal axes. The UV-reflector (12; 12') according to the present invention is characterized by the provision of at least a folding/an indentation (24; 24') in the area of the UV source of light (16; 16').

La présente invention concerne un réflecteur à ultraviolets (12, 12') intégré à un dispositif à ultraviolets (10, 10') servant à la purification d'un liquide ou d'un gaz et de préférence de l'eau, ledit réflecteur à ultraviolets (12, 12') possédant, au moins en partie, une section transversale en forme d'ellipse, ledit dispositif à ultraviolets (10, 10') comportant une source lumineuse (16, 16') située dans la zone d'un axe focal de l'ellipse, ladite source lumineuse (16, 16') émettant des ultraviolets, et un tube (20, 20') situé dans la zone de l'autre axe focal de l'ellipse, ledit tube (20, 20') étant transparent au rayonnement ultraviolet, de sorte que la purification du liquide ou du gaz se déroule au cours du passage à l'intérieur dudit tube (20, 20') par irradiation du gaz ou du liquide au moyen du rayonnement émis par la source ultraviolets (16, 16'). Dans les réflecteurs à ultraviolets du type mentionné ci-dessus, la section transversale en forme d'ellipse a pour effet de réfléchir le rayonnement ultraviolet émis à partir d'un axe focal vers le tube (20, 20') suivant l'autre axe focal. Cependant, dans les zones d'intersection de l'axe principal (36) et du pourtour de l'ellipse, des réflexions se produisent qui ne suivent pas le trajet souhaité de réflexion entre les axes focaux. Le réflecteur à ultraviolets (12, 12') selon l'invention se caractérise en ce que l'on dispose d'au moins un pli/un enfoncement (24, 24') dans la zone de la source de rayonnement ultraviolet (16, 16').
