Deflections in support structures (30) due to external stress factors, can be detected by a series of laser beams (16). A laser (12) is positioned at the perimeter of the structure (30). The laser (12) generates a laser beam (16) along a path adjacent to the structure (30), and the beam (16) strikes a receiver (14) across from the laser (12). Solid target blocks (22) are positioned along the support structure (30). When deflection occurs in the support structure (30), the targets (22) are concurrently displaced into the path of the laser beam (16). The receiver (14) registers the break in the laser beam (16) and activates an alarm. Each beam (16) is set to detect deflection in the structure (30) within predefined zones and the alarm indicates the zone in which the laser beam (16) path was broken by the deflection.

L'invention concerne un dispositif permettant de déceler, au moyen d'une série de rayons lasers (16) les flexions de structures porteuses (30) dues à des contraintes extérieures. Un laser (12) est placé sur le pourtour de la structure (30). Le laser (12) émet un rayon laser (16) qui suit un trajet adjacent à la structure (30), et le rayon (16) vient heurter un récepteur (14) placé en face du laser (12). Des blocs de visée solides (22) sont placés le long de la structure porteuse (30). En cas de flexion de la structure porteuse (30), les blocs cibles (22) se placent simultanément sur le trajet du rayon laser (16). Sensible à l'interruption du rayons laser (16), le récepteur (14) déclenche un alarme. Chaque rayon (16) est conçu pour détecter une flexion de la structure (30) dans des zones prédéterminées, l'alarme indiquant la zone dans laquelle le rayon laser (16) a été interrompu par la flexion.
