A debris-cleaning apparatus for toxic waste sites is mounted on a trailer (T). The apparatus includes a chamber (10) and a crane (70) that lowers a basket drum (200), filled with contaminated debris, into the chamber (10). The drum (200) is cylindrical and has journal shafts (210) at either end which drop into bearings (12) in the chamber (10). The drum (200) can be coupled to a drive motor (350) to rotate the drum (200) during a washing operation in which the chamber (10) is filled with heated detergent solution and agitated. The drum (200) surface is perforated. The agitation is increased by pumping the detergent solution into eductors (400) inside the chamber (10), each eductor (400) including a nozzle (410) and a venturi (430) concentric with the nozzle (410); the jet entrains large amounts of detergent to create a high volume turbulent flow inside the chamber (10). The chamber (10) is then drained into a holding tank and the debris is sprayed with detergent from orifices (234) drilled through the drum walls.

Système de nettoyage de débris pour décharge de produits toxiques monté sur une remorque (T) et comportant une chambre (10) et une grue (70) qui sert à descendre un récipient en forme de tambour (200) rempli de débris contaminés dans la chambre (10). Le tambour, en forme de cylindre est muni à ses deux extrémités de tourillons (210) qui viennent se placer dans des paliers (12) situés dans la chambre. Le tambour peut être couplé à un moteur (350) qui le fait tourner pendant le lavage au cours duquel la chambre (10) est remplie d'une solution chaude de détergent et agitée. La surface du tambour (200) est munie de perforations, l'agitation est renforcée par la projection dans la chambre (10) de la solution détergente au moyen de lances (400) dont chacune comporte une buse (410) et un venturi (430) concentrique. Le jet entraîne de grandes quantités de détergent et crée un flux turbulent de fort volume dans la chambre (10). La chambre (10) est ensuite vidée dans un réservoir et les débris sont arrosés de détergent par les orifices (234) percés dans la paroi du tambour.
