(EN)The current coefficient and saturation brightness of a phosphor is increased by coating the surfaces of phosphor particles (11, 21, 41) constituting a powdered phosphor with layers (12, 22, 42), preferably composed of phosphor, of 5 $g(m)m, or less in thickness. A cathode-ray tube using this phosphor has a high luminance and/or a high resolution. If the above phosphor contains phosphor particles covered with electrically conductive phosphor and is used for an electroluminescence element or a fluorescent character display tube, the lifetime and stability are improved.
(FR)On augmente le coefficient et la luminosité de saturation actuelles d'un phosphore en recouvrant la surface des particules (11, 21, 41) constitutives d'une poudre de phosphore avec des couches (12, 22, 42) de préférence de phosphore de 5 $g(m)m ou moins d'épaisseur. Un tube à rayons cathodiques qui utilise ce phosphore a une haute luminance et/ou une haute résolution. Lorsque ledit phosphore comprend des particules de phosphore recouvertes de phosphore électroconducteur et que l'on utilise le phosphore ainsi traité dans un élément électroluminescent ou dans un tube d'affichage de caractères fluorescents, on en augmente la vie utile et la stabilité.
