In an apparatus (1) comprising a rotationally drivable head support (15) carrying one head pair (26) with two magnetic heads (LP1, LP2) whose head gaps have oppositely oriented comparatively small first azimuth angles (+6°, -6°) and a further head pair (30) with two magnetic heads (A1, A2) whose head gaps have oppositely oriented comparatively large second azimuth angles (+30°, -30°), and comprising a device (35) for processing analog video signals and analog audio signals, for example in accordance with the VHS standard, the magnetic heads (LP1, LP2) of the one head pair (26) and the magnetic heads (A1, A2) of the further head pair (30) are arranged on the head support (15) in such a relationship to one another that the magnetic heads (LP1, A2, LP2, A1) scan adjacent interleaved inclined tracks (44, 45, 46, 47, 48), and the gap length of the head gaps of the magnetic heads (LP1, A2, LP2, A1) is at the most 0.40 $g(m)m, and a device (50) for processing digital video signals and digital audio signals has been provided.

Appareil (1) comprenant un support de têtes (15), dont la rotation est commandée et portant une paire (26) de têtes magnétiques (LP1, LP2), dont les écartements présentent des premiers angles d'azimuth opposés et relativement petits (+6°. -6°), ainsi qu'une autre paire (30) de têtes magnétiques (A1, A2), dont les écartements présentent des deuxièmes angles d'azimut opposés et relativement grands (+30°, -30°) et comprenant également un dispositif (35) de traitement de signaux vidéo analogiques et de signaux audio analogiques, par exemple conformes à la norme VHS, les têtes magnétiques (LP1, LP2) d'une paire (26) et les têtes magnétiques (A1, A2) de l'autre paire (30) étant situées sur le support de têtes (15) dans une position relative telle que lesdites têtes magnétiques (LP1, LP2, A1, A2) balaient des pistes inclinées, contiguës et imbriquées (44, 45, 46, 47, 48) et que la longueur de l'écartement des têtes magnétiques (LP1, A2, LP2, A1) est de 0,40 $g(m)m maximum. L'invention concerne également un dispositif (50) servant à traiter des signaux vidéo numériques et des signaux audio numériques.
