Abstract

Reactant for determining a rare earth metal, including yttrium and in particular cerium, in oxidised form in an organic medium. The reactant specifically consists of the following components for successive or simultaneous addition: (1) a sufficient quantity of a lightly complex-forming strong acid such as sulfonic acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid and advantageously heavy halohydric acid (with halogens having an atomic number greater than that of fluoride), generally hydrochloric acid; (2) a by-reactant comprising at least the following ingredients: (a) a rare earth chelating agent; (b) a buffer solution with a PH of 5-7; (3) the addition of a colour indicator pellet. The invention is for analyzing hydrocarbons.

La présente invention a pour objet un réactif de dosage d'un métal des terres rares y compris l'yttrium (et notamment du cérium) présent sous forme oxydée dans un milieu organique. Ce réactif se définit en ce qu'il comprend en vue d'une addition successive ou simultanée les composants ci-après: (1) une quantité adéquate d'un acide fort, peu complexant, tel que les acides sulfonique, sulfurique, nitrique et avantageusement halohydrique(s) lourd(s) (avec des halogènes dont le nombre atomique est supérieur à celui du fluor), en général HCI; (2) un sous-réactif comportant au moins les ingrédients suivants: (a) un agent chélatant (AC) des terres rares; (b) une solution tampon de pH compris entre 5 et 7; (3) ajout d'une pastille d'un indicateur coloré. Application à l'analyse des hydrocarbures.
