Abstract
(EN)
An infrared gas detector (40) for detecting dangerous or harmful gases (e.g. methane). The detector (40) comprises a first chamber (3) housing an electrical control arrangement (9) connected to an infrared energy source (15) and an infrared energy detector (17), and the second gas-permeable chamber (5) which is gas permeable and has a mirror (23) for reflecting infrared energy from the infrared energy source (15) to the infrared energy detector (17). The detector (40) further comprises a hollow cavity (52) formed of infrared transmissive material, positioned to intercept the infrared energy path between the infrared energy source (15) and the infrared energy detector (17), the cavity (52) being connected to a passageway (53) for allowing a calibrating gas to be supplied to said hollow cavity (52) for calibrating the detector (40).

Un détecteur à infrarouge (40), qui permet de détecter des gaz dangereux ou nuisibles (du méthane par exemple), comprend une première chambre (3) recevant un ensemble de commande électrique (9) connecté à une source d'énergie infrarouge (15) et à un détecteur d'énergie infrarouge (17), ainsi qu'une deuxième chambre (5) perméable aux gaz et dotée d'un miroir (23) qui réfléchit l'énergie infrarouge provenant de la source d'énergie infrarouge (15) vers le détecteur d'énergie infrarouge (17). Le détecteur (40) comprend aussi une cavité (52) réalisée en un matériau transmettant l'énergie infrarouge et placée de façon à couper le trajet de cette énergie entre sa source (15) et le détecteur (17). Cette cavité (52) est reliée à un passage (53) qui permet à un gaz d'étalonnage de parvenir à cette cavité pour étalonner ce détecteur (40).
