L-glutamic acid is produced by imparting to a coryneform L-glutamate producing bacterium the temperature sensitivity with respect to biotin antagonists to prepare a variant capable of producing L-glutamic acid in a medium containing excessive biotin in the absence of a biotin antagonist and culturing the variant in a liquid medium. L-lysine and L-glutamic acid are produced at the same time by imparting to a coryneform L-glutamate producing bacterium the temperature sensitivity with respect to biotin antagonists and the ability to produce L-lysine to prepare a variant capable of producing L-lysine and L-glutamic acid in a medium containing excessive biotin in the absence of a biotin antagonist and culturing the variant in a liquid medium.

L'acide L-glutamique est obtenu en conférant à un bacterium corynéforme produisant du L-glutamate une sensibilité à la température par rapport aux antagonistes de la biotine pour obtenir une variante apte à produire de l'acide L-glutamique dans un milieu contenant un excédant de biotine, en l'absence d'un antagoniste de la biotine, et en cultivant cette variante dans un milieu liquide. La L-Lysine et l'acide L-glutamique sont obtenus simultanément en conférant à un bactérium corynéforme produisant du L-glutamate une sensibilité à la température par rapport aux antagonistes de la biotine et l'aptitude à produire de la L-lysine, afin d'obtenir une variante capable de produire de la L-lysine et de l'acide L-glutamique dans un milieu contenant trop de biotine, en l'absence de l'antagoniste de biotine, et en cultivant la variante dans un milieu liquide.
