The present invention relates to novel cyclohexane-1,3-dione derivatives of formula (1) useful as herbicides and plant-growth regulants, wherein X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkoxy, C1-C6 haloalkyl, nitro, C1-C6 alkylthio, C1-C6 alkylsulfinyl, C1-C6 alkylsulfonyl, C1-C6 sulfamoyl, and $i(N, N)-di(C1-C6 alkyl)sulfamoyl group; (X)n represents the number of X substituents which may be substituted on benzene ring, wherein n is 1, 2 or 3. Also, cyclohexyl moiety, one of the substituents on benzofuran ring, is substituted at C-4, C-5, C-6 or C-7 position on benzene ring; R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and C1-C6 alkyl group; R2 is selected from the group consisting of C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl and C2-C6 alkynyl group; R3 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl, C1-C6 haloalkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, C2-C6 haloalkenyl, C2-C6 alkoxyalkyl, C2-C6 alkylthioalkyl, benzyl and C2-C6 haloalkanoyl group; R4 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkali metal cation, alkaline earth metal cation, C1-C4 alkanoyl, C1-C4 haloalkanoyl and benzoyl group.

Nouveaux dérivés cyclohexane-1,3-dione de la formule générale (1), utilisés comme herbicides et comme régulateurs de la croissance des végétaux. Dans cette formule X est choisi dans le groupe constitué par l'hydrogène, un halogène ou un groupe C1-C6 alkyle, C2-C6 alcoxy, C1-C6 haloalkyle, nitro, C1-C6 alkylthio, C1-C6 alkylsulfinyle, C1-C6 alkylsulfonyle, C1-C6 sulfamoyle et $i(N,N)-di(C1-C6 alkyle)sulfamoyle; (X)n représente le nombre de substituants de X pouvant être substitués sur la liaison benzène, n étant égal à 1, 2 ou 3. De même, la fraction cyclohexyle, l'un des substituants de la liaison benzofurane, est substituée à la position C-4, C-5, C-6 or C-7 sur la liaison benzène, R1 choisi dans le groupe constitué par l'hydrogène et le groupe C1-C6 alkyle; R2 est choisi dans le groupe constitué par C1-C6 alkyle, C2-C6 alcényle et C2-C6 alkynyle, R3 est choisi dans le groupe constitué par l'hydrogène ou un groupe C1-C6 alkyle, C1-C6 haloalkyle, C2-C6 alcényle, C2-C6 haloalcényle, C2-C6 alcoxyalkyle, C2-C6 alkylthioalkyle, benzyle et C2-C6 haloalcanoyle; R4 est choisi dans le groupe constitué par l'hydrogène, un cation de métal alcalin, un cation de métal alcalino-terreux, C1-C4 alcanoyle, C1-C4 haloalcanoyle et benzoyle.
