An improved soil feeder system in combination with a soil separating apparatus and method of controlling the feeding of soil material employing the soil feeder. The soil feeder apparatus includes a hopper body (28) to receive soil material and an opening (38) at one end for controlling the feeding of soil material to be screened. The body includes hydraulic cylinders (46) at the one end to tilt the hopper body between a soil receiving position and a tilted soil discharging position. An interruption system is provided to cause a series of abrupt interruptions in the tilting of the hopper body. The interruption system includes a cycle timer (TR-1) which controls the period of time between the start of each interruption and an interruption timer which controls the length of time of each interruption. The interruption is caused by a sudden and temporary diversion of hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic cylinders which tilt the hopper body. The interruption imparts a thump or inertial shock to the soil on the hopper body, thereby deconsolidating the soil and allowing it to flow more consistently.

L'invention concerne un système amélioré d'alimentation en terre utilisé en combinaison avec un appareil de tamisage de la terre, ainsi qu'un procédé pour réguler l'alimentation en terre avec le système en question. Le système d'alimentation en terre comprend un corps de trémie (28) destiné à recevoir de la terre et une ouverture (38) à une extrémité pour réguler l'alimentation en terre à tamiser. Le corps comporte des vérins hydrauliques (46) à une extrémité, permettant de changer l'inclinaison du corps d'une position de chargement de la terre vers une position inclinée de déchargement. On a prévu un dispositif interrupteur permettant une série d'interruptions brusques dans le processus d'inclinaison du corps de la trémie. Le dispositif interrupteur comprend une minuterie de cycle (TR-1) qui gère la durée entre le commencement de chaque interruption et une minuterie d'interruption qui gère la durée de chaque interruption. L'interruption est provoquée par une déviation brusque et temporaire du fluide hydraulique alimentant les cylindres hydrauliques qui inclinent le corps de la trémie. Cette interruption provoque un coup de bélier ou choc inertiel dans la terre sur le corps de la trémie, ce qui rend la terre moins compacte et lui permet de s'écouler plus régulièrement.
