A non-linear frequency conversion device is tunable over a wide tuning range. An input source provides a first input beam with a frequency $g(l)l. A first frequency conversion crystal has an input beam face that is cut at a phase matching angle $g(u)1 and is positioned on a first stage at a stage angle $g(a)1. The first frequency conversion crystal provides frequency conversion of the input beam of frequency $g(l)1 to a selected frequency $g(l)2 of a first portion of the selected tuning range. A second frequency conversion crystal has an input beam face that is cut at a phase matching angle $g(u)2 and is positioned on a second stage at a stage angle $g(a)2. The second frequency conversion crystal provides frequency conversion of the input beam from a frequency $g(l)1 to a selected frequency $g(l)3 of a second portion of the selected tuning range. Only one of the frequency conversion crystals provides frequency conversion in the range for a particular input wavelength while the other crystal is inactive, and serves as a beam displacement compensator. The non-linear frequency conversion device can be used for second harmonic generation, sum frequency mixing, difference frequency mixing, or optical parametric generation.

Un dispositif de conversion de fréquence non linéaire peut être accordé sur une plage d'accord étendue. Une source d'entrée produit un premier faisceau d'entrée à une fréquence $g(l)1. Un premier cristal de conversion de fréquence présence une face de faisceau d'entrée découpée selon un angle $g(u)1 correspondant à la phase et est placé sur un premier étage selon une angle d'étage $g(a)1. Le premier cristal de conversion de fréquence assure la conversion de fréquence du faisceau d'entrée de fréquence $g(l)1 en une fréquence sélectionnée $g(l)2 d'une première partie de la plage d'accord sélectionnée. Un second cristal de conversion de fréquence présente une face de faisceau d'entrée découpée selon un angle $g(u)2 correspondant à la phase et est placé sur un second étage selon un angle d'étage $g(a)2. Le second cristal de conversion de fréquence assure la conversion de fréquence du faisceau d'entrée à une fréquence $g(l)1 en une fréquence $g(l)3 sélectionnée d'une seconde partie de la plage d'accord sélectionnée. Seul un des cristaux de conversion de fréquence assure la conversion de fréquence dans la plage prévue pour une longueur d'onde d'entrée particulière alors que l'autre est inactif, et sert de compensateur de déplacement du faisceau. Le dispositif de conversion de fréquence non linéaire peut être utilisé pour la génération de deuxièmes harmoniques, ainsi que pour le mélange de fréquences de somme, le mélange de fréquences de différence ou la génération paramétrique optique.
