A temperature sensitive material and method of preparing the same includes an oil-in-water emulsion in which the emulsifier type and content are controlled, as are the freezing point of the oil phase, the freezing point of the water phase, the oil-to-water ratio and the particle size of the oil phase and to which additives are introduced in the water phase, selected from the group consisting of a salt, glycerol and urea such that the material undergoes an irreversible optical change when subjected to a temperature above the reveal temperature of the emulsion.

L'invention concerne une préparation sensible à la température et un procédé pour la préparer. Elle se compose d'une émulsion d'huile dans l'eau où on a sélectionné le type d'émulsifiant et sa concentration, ainsi que le point de congélation de la phase huile, le point de congélation de la phase eau, le rapport huile sur eau et la taille des particules de la phase huile. On ajoute des additifs à la phase eau, qui sont choisis parmi un sel, du glycérol et de l'urée. Cette préparation subit un changement optique irréversible lorsqu'elle est exposée à une température supérieure à la température de révélation de l'émulsion.
