(EN)A laser (300) for producing a beam of radiation (302) which is then refined in cross-sectional dimension by use of plano-cylindrical lenses (304, 306). The refined beam of radiation (312) falls incident on a part (308) to be measured. The unobstructed portions of the beam (312A and 312B) are then redirected by a pair of reflective surfaces (314, 314') which produce non-parallel radiating beams (318, 318'); each beam is comprised of the unobstructed portion of radiation which has passed radially opposed halves of the part. The magnitude of radiation present in each non-parallel radiating beam (318, 318') is then measured.

Le faisceau retouché (312) tombe ensuite sur une pièce à mesurer (308).
