The driving pulley (10) is used in a variable-speed belt drive, which comprises, in particular, two radially converging ramps (50, 52) facing each other and coaxial to a shaft (40), one ramp (50) being rigidly attached to a movable flange (30) and the other ramp (52) being rigidly attached to the shaft (40) in spaced relationship with the movable flange (30). A plurality of sliding flyweights (60) are symmetrically disposed around the shaft (40) and radially movable between the ramps (50, 52). The improvement in the driving pulley (10) is that each ramp (50, 52) comprises a contact surface on which the flyweights (60) are in contact wherein at least one contact surface (56) is curved. Each flyweight (60) also comprises a lateral knob (62) engaged with the curved contact surface (56) for ensuring that the contact point of the sliding flyweights (60) with a curved contact surface (56) does not substantially change as the flyweights (60) slide.

Un variateur de vitesse à courroie trapézoïdale utilise une poulie motrice (10) comportant notamment deux plans inclinés (50, 52) convergeant radialement qui se font face et sont coaxiaux par rapport à un arbre (40), un plan incliné (50) étant solidaire d'un flasque mobile (30) et l'autre plan incliné (52) étant solidaire de l'arbre (40) et espacé du flasque mobile (30). Une pluralité de masselottes coulissantes (60) sont disposées symétriquement autour de l'arbre (40) et mobiles radialement entre les plans inclinés (50, 52). Le perfectionnement de cette poulie motrice (10) réside dans le fait que chaque plan incliné (50, 52) présente une surface de contact sur laquelle les masselottes (60) sont en contact, au moins une surface de contact (56) étant incurvée. Chaque masselotte (60) comporte également un bossage latéral (62) en prise avec la surface de contact incurvée (56) pour assurer que le point de contact des masselottes coulissantes (60) avec une surface de contact incurvée (56) ne varie pas sensiblement à mesure que les masselottes (60) coulissent.
