The present invention relates to marking friction linings for drum brakes or for single-block brake pads in which the friction lining and the support member are made together by moulding a single material. According to the invention, the back (5) of the friction lining or the back (5) of the single-block brake pad (1) is provided with an insert (6) that is not oxidisable and that withstands a temperature of greater than 200 °C, the insert (6) having a surface (6a) that is visible outside the lining or the pad (1) and that is suitable for acting as a medium to carry indelible information. Advantageously, the insert (6) is in the form of a tongue (7), that projects towards the top of the brake calliper.

L'invention concerne le marquage de garnitures de friction destinées à des freins à tambour ou à des plaquettes de frein monobloc dans lesquelles on fabrique en même temps la garniture et l'élément support en moulant un seul matériau. Selon l'invention, le dos (5) de la garniture de friction ou celui (5) de la plaquette (1) de frein monobloc est pourvu d'un élément rapporté (6) qui ne peut s'oxyder, supporte une température supérieure à 200° C, et possède une surface (6a) visible de l'extérieur de la garniture ou de la plaquette (1) et conçue pour agir en tant que milieu destiné à porter des informations indélébiles. De manière avantageuse, cet élément rapporté (6) revêt la forme d'une languette (7) saillant en direction du sommet de l'étrier du frein.
