DNA primers effective in screening G protein coupled receptor protein-encoding DNA fragments are provided. The primers which are complementary to nucleotide sequences that are in community with (homologous to) the nucleotide sequences encoding amino acid sequences corresponding to or near the first membrane-spanning domain or the sixth membrane-spanning domain each of known various G protein coupled receptor proteins were designed and synthesized. Methods of amplifying G protein coupled receptor protein-encoding DNAs using the above DNA primers, and novel target G protein coupled receptor protein-encoding DNAs are also provided. Screening of DNA libraries can be efficiently carried out. Human pituitary gland or amygdala-derived and mouse pancreas-derived G protein coupled receptor proteins, etc., or salts thereof, partial peptides thereof, DNAs coding for the above G protein coupled receptor proteins, processes for producing the above G protein coupled receptor proteins, methods of determining ligands for the above G protein coupled receptor proteins, methods of screening compounds that inhibit the binding between the ligand and the G protein coupled receptor proteins or screening kits therefor, compounds or salts thereof obtained by the above screening method or the screening kit, pharmaceutical compositions containing the above compounds or salts thereof, and antibodies against the above protein coupled receptor proteins or partial peptides thereof are provided.

ADN amorces efficaces pour le criblage de fragments d'ADN codant une protéine réceptrice couplée à une protéine G. L'invention porte sur la conception et la synthèse d'amorces qui sont complémentaires de séquences nucléotides communes (et homologues) à des séquences nucléotides codant des séquences amino-acides correspondant au domaine de traversée de la première membrane ou proche de ce domaine, ou à celui de la sixième membrane de chacune des protéines réceptrices couplées aux diverses protéines G connues. L'invention porte également sur l'amplification d'ADN codant une protéine réceptrice couplée à une protéine G mettant en ÷uvre des ADN amorces, et sur de nouveaux ADN codant une protéine réceptrice couplée à une protéine G cible. L'exploration des librairies d'ADN peut s'effectuer de manière efficace. L'invention porte sur des protéines réceptrices, ou leurs sels, couplés à une protéine G dérivée de la glande pituitaire humaine ou des amygdales humaines ou du pancréas d'une souris, des peptides partiels de ces protéines, des ADN codant les protéines réceptrices couplées aux protéines G susmentionnées, des procédés d'obtention des protéines réceptrices couplées aux protéines G susmentionnées, des méthodes de détermination des ligands pour les protéines réceptrices couplées aux protéines G susmentionnées, des méthodes d'identification des composés interdisant l'association entre le ligand et les protéines réceptrices couplées à la protéine G ainsi que les nécessaires de dépistage utilisés dans le cadre de ces méthodes, les composés ou les sels obtenus selon ces méthodes d'identification ou à l'aide des nécessaires susmentionnés, les compositions pharmaceutiques renfermant ces composés ou ces sels, ainsi que les anticorps dirigés contre les protéines réceptrices couplées aux protéines précitées ou les peptides partiels qui en sont issus.
