Abstract

A process for the production of a fluorine containing olefin is described which comprises passing a gaseous feed comprising a saturated hydrohalocarbon reactant having a fluorine substituent and one or more further halogen substituents through a heated reaction zone in which there is contained a Lewis acid catalyst. The process may be used to prepare trifluoroethylene from 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane.

Procédé de production d'une oléfine contenant du fluor, consistant à faire passer un courant gazeux comprenant un réactif à base d'hydrohalocarbure saturé possédant un substituant fluor ainsi qu'un ou plusieurs substituants halogène, à travers une zone de réaction chauffée dans laquelle on a placé un catalyseur à base d'acide de Lewis. On peut utiliser ce procédé pour préparer du trifluoroéthylène à partir du 1,1,1,2-tétrafluoroéthane.
