Abstract
(EN)
A method of achieving flocculation in alkaline waste water streams having a pH greater than 10.2 comprised of the following steps. (a) ensuring that the pH of the solution is greater than or equal to 10.2; (b) addition to the waste water stream with mixing of a magnesium ion generating solution being made up from one or more of a group of solutions comprising magnesium salts, bitterns, mgnesia/mineral acid solutions, magnesite/mineral acid solutions or power station ash pond waste water; (c) addition with mixing of a strongly anionic polyelectrolyte of high molecular weight; the polyelectrolyte being based on sodium polyacrylate or a copolymer of acrylamide and acrylic acid.

Un procédé de floculation de courants d'eaux usées alcalines dont le pH est supérieur à 10,2 comprend les étapes suivantes: (a) on vérifie que le pH de la solution est supérieur ou égal à 10,2; (b) on ajoute en mélangeant, au courant d'eaux usées, une solution générant des ions magnésium, cette solution étant composée d'une ou plusieurs solutions comprenant des sels de magnésium, des eaux mères, des solutions d'acide inorganique/magnésie, des solutions d'acide inorganique/magnésite, ou des eaux usées provenant d'un bassin de cendres d'une centrale électrique; et (c) on ajoute en mélangeant un polyélectrolyte fortement anionique d'un poids moléculaire élevé, à base de polyacrylate de sodium ou d'un copolymère d'acrylamide et d'acide acrylique.
