Abstract

A rudder for a watercraft comprising two or more substantially vertical rudder blades (1, 2) positioned one after the other in the longitudinal direction of the craft. The rudder blades are fastened to two substantially horizontal end plates, an upper plate (3) and a lower plate (4). The fastening of the rudder blades to the end plates is made in such a manner that one or more slits (5) are formed between the rudder blades. The design of the rudder blades is based on known foil sections (as, for example, NACA sections) which can be adapted to meet various criteria. The upper end plate may, if necessary, be dimensioned for transmitting the moment from the rudder stock (6) to the rudder blades (1, 2).

Un gouvernail destiné à un engin nautique comporte au moins deux safrans (1, 2) sensiblement verticaux, disposés l'un derrière l'autre dans l'alignement de la ligne de foi de l'engin. Les safrans sont maintenus par deux plateaux sensiblement horizontaux, en l'occurrence un plateau supérieur (3) et un plateau inférieur (4). Le montage des safrans sur les plateaux d'extrémités est réalisé de façon à dégager au moins une fente (5) entre les safrans. La forme des safrans respecte les connaissances en matière de profil hydrodynamique (tel que par exemple les profils NACA) qui autorisent des adaptations répondant à divers critères. Le cas échéant, les dimensions du plateau supérieur peuvent être prévues pour permettre la transmission aux safrans (1, 2) du moment de couple de la mèche de gouvernail (6).
