The invention relates to a method for measuring the disturbance level of a base station environment, which base station (BTS1) comprises at least one receiver (TRX) utilizing frequency hopping, and means for measuring the signal level (RSSI) of signals received by said receiver. In order to carry out the measurements quickly and with ease, a free traffic channel is allocated in the receiver (TRX), said traffic channel is made hop sequentially through those frequency channels (f1 - f5) which the base station (BTS1) uses for reception, and the signal levels (RSSI) of the signals received on said frequency channels (f1 - f5) are measured, and a report on the measurement results is transmitted to the operator. The invention further relates to a cellular communication system which can utilize the method of the invention.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de mesure du niveau de perturbation de l'environnement d'une station de base. Ladite station de base (BST1) se compose d'au moins un récepteur (TRX) à sauts de fréquence, et d'un dispositif de mesure du niveau de signal (RSSI) des signaux reçus par ledit récepteur. Pour réaliser rapidement et facilement les mesures, le procédé consiste à affecter au récepteur (TRX) un canal de trafic libre. Ce canal de trafic effectue des sauts séquentiels entre les canaux de fréquences (f1 - f5) que la station de base (BTS1) utilise pour la réception. Les niveaux de signal (RSSI) des signaux reçus sur lesdits canaux de fréquences (f1 - f5) sont mesurés, un compte rendu des résultats de mesure étant remis à l'opérateur. L'invention concerne également un système de communication cellulaire pouvant utiliser le procédé de l'invention.
