Abstract

A device for transporting air, said device using an electric ion wind and including at least one corona electrode (K) and at least one target electrode (M) provided downstream of the corona electrode (K), seen in the desired direction of the air flow. A d.c. voltage source (3) has its positive terminal connected to the corona electrode (K) and the other terminal to the target electrode (M), the potential being such that an ion generating a corona discharge appears at the corona electrode and a transport of air is directed towards and through the target electrode (M). The corona electrode (K) includes at least one and preferably several wire-shaped electrode elements (k) having their free ends directed towards the plane of the target electrode (M). The corona discharge is stable, i.e. without risk for so-called streamers effect. This is achieved by the corona element or more correctly its free end directed towards the target electrode (M) consisting of a sufficiently thin wire-shaped element having an equivalent diameter less than 0.2 mm and preferably less than 0.1 mm.

Dispositif d'acheminement de l'air mettant en ÷uvre un flux d'ions et comprenant au minimum une électrode subissant l'effet couronne (K) et une électrode cible (M) en aval de la précédente, selon le sens souhaité de déplacement de l'air. La source de tension de courant continu (3) comporte une borne positive connectée à l'électrode subissant l'effet couronne (K) et son autre borne reliée à l'électrode cible (M), le potentiel étant tel que les ions générateurs de la décharge par effet couronne apparaissent au niveau de l'électrode subissant l'effet couronne et que le déplacement de l'air est dirigé vers l'électrode cible (M). L'électrode subissant l'effet couronne (K) comporte au moins un et, de préférence, plusieurs éléments d'électrode en forme de fil (k) dont les extrémités libres sont dirigées vers le plan de l'électrode cible (M). La décharge par effet couronne est stable, c'est-à-dire qu'elle ne présente pas de risque d'effets qualifiés de traînées. Ce résultat est obtenu par le fait que l'élément couronne et, plus exactement, son extrémité libre, dirigée vers l'électrode cible (M), est constitué d'un élément filiforme assez mince présentant un diamètre de cercle équivalent inférieur à 0,2 mm et, de préférence, inférieur à 0,1 mm.
