Abstract

A phone plug (10) for substantially noiseless electrical engagement with a phone jack (50) having a neck (52) includes a tip assembly (20), a stem assembly (30), and a terminal assembly (40), all disposed coaxially along a longitudinal axis (15). Stem assembly (30) includes a sleeve (31), a base (32) having a cavity (33) formed in the end thereof flared into sleeve (31), a substantially cylindrical, movable collar (34) having an annular shaped flange (35) formed at one end thereof, and a biasing coil spring (36). Coil spring (36) is placed coaxially over sleeve (31) with one of its ends seated within cavity (33). Movable collar (34) is placed coaxially over sleeve (31) with flange (35) in contact with the end of coil spring (36) opposite that seated within cavity (33). Coil spring (36) acts against one side of flange (35) to bias movable collar (34) into electrical engagement with tip assembly (20). When phone plug (10) is fully seated in phone jack (50), neck (52) acts against the other side of flange (35) to overcome the bias and electrically disengage movable collar (34) from tip assembly (20).

Une prise de téléphone (10) permettant un raccordement électrique sensiblement sans bruit, avec une prise jack (50) de téléphone doté d'un collet (52), comprend un ensemble pointe (20), un ensemble corps (30) et un ensemble de terminaison (40), tous disposés de façon coaxiale le long d'un axe longitudinal (15). L'ensemble corps (30) comprend un manchon (31), une base (32) pourvue d'une cavité (33) formée à son extrémité et élargie pour former le manchon (31), un collier (34) mobile sensiblement cylindrique à une extrémité duquel une collerette (35) annulaire est formée, et un ressort hélicoïdal de contrainte (36). Le ressort hélicoïdal (36) est disposé de façon coaxiale par-dessus le manchon (31), l'une de ses extrémités étant logée dans la cavité (33).
