Abstract
(EN)
A drum (1) for the sealed containment and storage of radioactive material, e.g. UO3 powder, has a top portion which comprises a sealable filling neck (17), through which material to be contained may be applied, and a collar (23) provided around the filling neck, the collar having an engagement means which allows the drum to be picked up by a lifting means. The said engagement means comprises an inward facing rim or lip (25) on the collar (23), the underside of which rim or lip provides an annular surface against which a single, multiple or annular lifting means (63) can be engaged to provide a lifting action. The collar (23) may project upwardly from a region at or adjacent to the periphery of the drum (1) top portion, the collar having in cross section an inward sloping portion (23a) between the region where the collar is attached to the top portion of the drum and the rim or lip. The drum may have a body inside which material is to be contained and stored and, provided beneath the base of the body, a downwardly projecting ring or skirt (11) which provides a cylindrical space beneath the base of the body, the cylindrical space having a size such that the collar on the top portion of an identical drum fits closely inside the ring or skirt to occupy at least part of the said cylindrical space.

Un fût (1) pour le confinement et le stockage étanches de matière radioactive, par exemple de poudre de UO3, possède une partie supérieure pourvue d'un goulot de remplissage (17) pouvant être fermé de façon étanche, qui permet l'introduction de la matière à confiner, et un collet (23) entourant le goulot de remplissage. Ce collet qui possède un moyen de prise qui permet d'emporter le fût fait office de moyen de levage. Ce moyen de prise comporte une lèvre ou un rebord (23), orienté vers le bas sur le collet (23) et dont la face inférieure forme une surface annulaire contre laquelle un moyen de levage (63) simple, multiple ou annulaire peut être mis en prise pour réaliser une action de levage. Le collet (23) peut faire saillie vers le haut depuis une zone située sur la périphérie de la partie supérieure du fût (1) ou à proximité. En coupe transversale, le collet possède une partie en pente vers l'intérieur (23a) entre la zone de fixation du collet sur la partie supérieure du fût et le rebord ou la lèvre. Le fût peut comporter un corps dans lequel les matières doivent être confinées et stockées et, en dessous de la base du corps, une jupe ou un anneau (11) en saillie vers le bas, qui crée sous la base du corps un espace cylindrique d'une taille telle que le collet de la partie supérieure d'un fût identique s'adapte étroitement à l'intérieur de l'anneau ou de la jupe en occupant au moins une partie de cet espace cylindrique.
