A computationally efficient procedure for determining the set of quantization sensitivities for the line spectral pair (LSP) frequencies is performed by LSP quantizing system (10), which results in a computationally efficient error measure for use in vector quantization of the LSP frequencies. A new set of vectors are computed based upon the LSP values by a P and Q computation element (4). These vectors are then supplied to a bank of polynomial division computation elements (5a-5N) which provide the quotients to sensitivity autocorrelation elements (6a-6N). The sensitivities autocorrelations and a set of autocorrelations are used to generate a set of sensitivity cross-correlations by sensitivity cross-correlators (7a-7N). The computed sensitivity values are then used to quantize the LSP values.

Un procédé efficace sur le plan calcul conçu pour déterminer l'ensemble des sensibilités de quantification concernant les fréquences à double spectre de raies (LSP), et mis en ÷uvre par le système de quantification LSP (10), permet d'obtenir une mesure d'erreur efficace sur le plan calcul destinée à être utilisée dans la quantification vectorielle des fréquences LSP. Un nouvel ensemble de vecteurs est calculé sur la base des valeurs LSP par un élément de calcul (4) P et Q. Ces vecteurs sont ensuite envoyés à une banque d'éléments de calcul de division polynomiale (5a-rN) qui envoie les quotients à des éléments d'autocorrélation de sensibilités (6a-6N). Les autocorrélations de sensibilités et un ensemble d'autocorrélations sont utilisés pour générer un ensemble de corrélations croisées de sensibilités à l'aide de corrélateurs croisés (7a-7N). Les valeurs de sensibilités calculées servent à quantifier les valeurs LSP.
