An ultrasonic receive system includes two receive beamformers. A first receive beamformer (R-100) is optimized for imaging modes such as B-mode and color resolution and wide bandwidth, while the accompanying second receive beamformer (A-400) has a wide dynamic range and is dedicated for use in acquiring spectral Doppler information, which is typically narrowband compared to imaging information. The second receive beamformer achieves the sensitivity and low-noise performance of a dedicated single-channel pencil probe instrument yet it also performs electronic beam steering. Both receive beamformers can operate through a common transducer array, thereby increasing exam efficiency and permitting registration of sprectral Doppler information with a B-mode or color Doppler flow image.

Un système de réception ultrasonique comporte deux générateurs de faisceaux de réception. Un premier générateur de faisceaux de réception (R-100) est optimisé pour l'imagerie des modes tels que le mode-B et la résolution couleur ainsi que la grande largeur de bande alors que le second générateur de faisceaux de réception concomitant (A-400) possède une large plage dynamique et est réservé à l'acquisition d'informations spectrales Doppler, qui sont généralement à bande étroite comparées aux informations d'imagerie. Le second générateur de faisceaux de réception réalise la sensibilité et la performance à faible bruit d'une sonde très étroite à voie unique, spécialisée, et effectue également l'orientation des faisceaux électroniques.
