Abstract

The present invention relates to a lens/fiber assembly having disposed therein an optical fiber (1, 21), canted at an angle (Ø) to the axis of light propagation, so as to adequately reduce back reflection of light into an optically active device coupled to the optical fiber. The design of the present invention enables quick and accurate alignment of the optical fiber with the active optical device by movement of the lensed fiber assembly either on axis with and/or orthogonal to the axis of light propagation. The optical fiber/lens assembly is composed of an elongate or tubular housing (9), having a lens (10), disposed therein, coincident with the axis of the housing (6-6'). Also disposed within the assembly housing is an optical fiber assembly (8), containing an optical fiber (1 and 2), the axis of which (3-3') is canted at an angle (Ø) relative to the axis of the housing/lens assembly. The optical fiber end-face (4), is disposed at a preselected angle to the axis of the fiber.

Montage d'optique par fibre comportant une fibre optique (1, 21), inclinée selon un certain angle (Ø) par rapport à l'axe de propagation de la lumière, de manière à atténuer comme il convient la réflection en sens opposé de la lumière dans le dispositif optique actif couplé à la fibre optique. Selon cette conception, on obtient un alignement rapide et précis de la fibre optique par rapport au dispositif optique actif par un mouvement du montage optique par fibre selon l'axe de propagation de la lumière et/ou perpendiculairement à cet axe. Le montage optique par fibre se compose d'un boîtier cylindrique allongé (9) abritant une lentille (10) qui coïncide avec l'axe du boîtier (6-6'). Ce boîtier abrite également un montage optique à fibre (8) renfermant une fibre optique (1 et 2) dont l'axe (3-3') est incliné selon un certain angle (Ø) par rapport à l'axe du boîtier et du montage optique. La face terminale de la fibre optique (4) présente un certain angle par rapport à l'axe de la fibre.
