Abstract

A pseudo telecentric flow cytometric optical system for the simultaneous detection of several characteristics of particles suspended in a flowing medium. The system is made up of a flowcell (128) through which the particles pass substantially one particle at a time, an optical system for directing light (121) from a light source (120) onto the flowing particles in flowcell, a side angle optical collection system (150) for receiving light from the flowing particles and for directing the light to one or more of a first set of detectors, and a forward angle collection system (160) for receiving light from the flowing particles and for directing the light to one or more of a second set of detectors. The side angle optical collection system can include a condenser lens (132) for directing light toward the first set of detectors with an exit pupil (151) of the condenser lens located at the back focal plane of the condenser lens; a photosensitive surface of one or more of the first set of detectors (141, 142, 143, 144) is located at conjugate points of the back focal plane of the condenser lens such that an image of the exit pupil is positioned at the photosensitive surface of one or more of the first set of detectors. The forward angle optical collection system can include a collecting lens (130) for directing light toward the second set of detectors (131) where the collecting lens exit pupil is located in the back focal plane of the collecting lens and a photosensitive surface of one or more of the second set of detectors is located at the back focal plane of the collecting lens.

La présente invention concerne un système optique pseudo-télécentrique par cytométrie de flux permettant la détection simultanée de plusieurs caractéristiques de particules en suspension dans un milieu en écoulement. Le système est constitué d'une cuve à flux continu (128) au travers de laquelle les particules passent sensiblement une à une, d'un bloc optique dirigeant la lumière (121) d'une source lumineuse (120) sur des particules s'écoulant dans la cuve à flux continu, d'un bloc optique de captation angulaire latérale (160) recevant la lumière des particules en écoulement et renvoyant la lumière à l'un au moins des détecteurs d'un second jeu de détecteurs. Le bloc optique de captation angulaire latérale peut comporter une lentille de condensateur (132) permettant de renvoyer la lumière en direction du premier jeu de détecteurs, la pupille de sortie (151) de la lentille de condensateur étant située sur la plan focal arrière de la lentille de condensateur; une surface photosensible de l'un au moins des détecteurs du premier jeu de détecteurs (141, 142, 143, 144) est située au niveau des points de conjugaison du plan focal arrière de la lentille de condensateur, de façon que l'image de la pupille de sortie se situe au niveau de la surface photosensible de l'un au moins des détecteurs du premier jeu de détecteurs. Le bloc optique de captation angulaire avant peut comporter une lentille convergente (130) permettant de renvoyer la lumière en direction du second jeu de détecteurs (131), auquel cas la pupille de sortie à lentille convergente se trouve dans le plan focal arrière de la lentille convergente, et une surface photosensible de l'un au moins des détecteurs du second jeu de détecteurs se trouve dans le plan focal arrière de la lentille convergente.
