Abstract

The invention is a microcomponent sheet architecture wherein macroscale unit processes are performed by microscale components. The sheet architecture may be a single laminate (1) with a plurality of separate microcomponent (2) sections or the sheet architecture may be a plurality of laminates with one or more microcomponent sections on each laminate. Each microcomponent or plurality of like microcomponents perform at least one unit operation. A first laminate having a plurality of like first microcomponents is combined with at least a second laminate having a plurality of like second microcomponents thereby combining at least two unit operations to achieve a system operation.

L'invention concerne une architecture en feuille à microcomposants, selon laquelle des opérations de base à grande échelle sont réalisées à l'aide de composants à petite échelle. L'architecture en feuille peut être constituée d'une seule couche (1) comprenant une pluralité de sections de microcomposants individuelles (2) ou de plusieurs couches composées chacune d'une ou plusieurs sections de microcomposants. Chaque microcomposant ou chaque pluralité de microcomposants effectue au moins une opération de base. Une première couche comportant plusieurs premiers microcomposants similaires est combinée à au moins une deuxième couche comportant une pluralité de deuxièmes microcomposants similaires, combinant ainsi deux opérations de base pour assurer une opération de système.
