A gas cylinder is set on a gas appliance on the basis of the knowledge that a resonance frequency of a cassette type gas cylinder does not vary with a residual quantity of a gas therein, and a transmitter and a receiver are set in positions, which are determined on the basis of a position opposed to a weld zone of a trunk portion of the gas cylinder, and which permit an output voltage of the receiver with respect to a residual quantity of the gas to be detected at a specific resonance frequency of the gas cylinder to become not lower than a predetermined level, the residual quantity of a liquified gas in the cylinder being detected by transmitting the specific resonance frequency signal from the transmitter and detecting a reception output of not lower than a predetermined level by the receiver. This enables a residual quantity of the gas in the liquified gas-containing cassette type gas cylinder to be detected reliably from the outside.

Le procédé de la présente invention repose sur le principe que la fréquence de résonance d'une cartouche à gaz jetable ne varie pas en fonction de la quantité du gaz résiduel qu'elle conserve. Le procédé consiste donc à placer la cartouche à gaz jetable sur un appareil, et un émetteur et un récepteur sont disposés en des endroits déterminés par rapport à une localisation opposée à la zone de soudure de la partie corps de la cartouche à gaz jetable. Le procédé consiste ensuite à faire en sorte que la tension de sortie délivrée par le récepteur pour la quantité de gaz résiduel à détecter à une fréquence de résonance spécifique de la cartouche à gaz jetable ne descende pas en dessous d'un niveau déterminé. Pour détecter la quantité résiduelle de gaz liquéfié restant dans la cartouche, le principe consiste enfin à émettre depuis l'émetteur le signal à fréquence de résonance spécifique et à détecter grâce au récepteur une sortie de réception ne se situant pas en dessous d'un niveau prédéterminé. Cela permet de détecter de façon fiable depuis l'extérieur la quantité résiduelle de gaz restant dans la cartouche à gaz jetable.
