Abstract

A wedge and ring-type plug assembly (40) for plugging a heat exchanger tube (46) to provide a leak resistant seal. The plug assembly (40) is designed to reduce the effect of friction forces so that the tapered elongate wedge (44) can be displaced through the compressible ring (42) with a relatively low amount of force.
