An underwater soil erosion prevention system (10) has a generally rectangular length of material (12) folded at regularly spaced intervals at an angle generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the rectangular length of material (12), thereby forming sheets (16). Each sheet (16) contains slits (22) which are generally perpendicular to the fold (14). The slits (22) begin above the bottom edge (20) of the sheet and terminate below the top edge (18) of the sheet. The sheets contain openings (26) sized to snugly receive an anchor line (28) on either side. To aid in deploying the soil erosion prevention system (10), an inflatable rollable array (40) with a receiving valve (44) is provided. The array can be rolled together with the underwater soil erosion prevention system, and when ready for deployment, a fluid is controllably inserted into the array through the receiving valve, thereby causing the array and system to unroll. Alternatively, the underwater soil erosion prevention system can be releasably attached to a frame mechanism (50) to facilitate deployment underwater.

Système (10) de prévention d'érosion de sol sous-marin constitué d'une longueur de matériau (12) généralement rectangulaire pliée à intervalles réguliers à un angle généralement perpendiculaire à l'axe longitudinal de la longueur de matériau (12) rectangulaire, formant ainsi des feuilles (16). Chaque feuille (16) comporte des fentes (12) qui sont généralement perpendiculaires aux plis (14). Les fentes (22) commencent au-dessus de l'arête inférieure (20) de la feuille et se terminent sous l'arête supérieure (18) de ladite feuille. Les feuilles comportent des ouvertures (26) de taille appropriée pour recevoir de manière serrée une ligne d'ancrage (28) de chaque côté. Un ensemble (40) enroulable gonflable doté d'une soupape réceptrice (44) facilite le déploiement dudit système (10). Ledit ensemble peut être enroulé avec le système de prévention d'érosion de sol sous-marin et lorsque tout est prêt pour le déploiement, un fluide est introduit de manière régulée dans l'ensemble par la soupape réceptrice, ce qui provoque le déroulement de l'ensemble et du système. Selon une variante, ledit système de prévention d'érosion de sol sous-marin peut être fixé amovible à un mécanisme à châssis (50) pour faciliter le déploiement sous l'eau.
