Methods are disclosed for producing chimeric nucleic acid molecules with two or more functionalities. A chimeric library is generated in which individual chimeric molecules combine the functions or characteristics of two or more parent libraries, each parent library having been selected through the SELEX procedure for a specific function or feature. The chimeric molecules of this invention are useful in a variety of ways, including having improved affinities for a target molecule, enhancing assembly of multi-component molecules, and promoting reactions between two molecules.

Procédés permettant de produire des molécules d'acides nucléiques possédant deux fonctionnalités ou plus. Une bibliothèque chimérique est produite, dans laquelle des molécules chimériques individuelles combinent les fonctions ou caractéristiques de deux bibliothèques parentes ou plus, chaque bibliothèque parente ayant été sélectionnée par la procédure SELEX pour une fonction ou une propriété spécifiques. Les molécules chimériques de la présente invention sont utiles de nombreuses manières, entre autres du fait qu'elles peuvent posséder des affinités améliorées pour une molécule cible, qu'elles peuvent favoriser l'assemblage de molécules à composants multiples et qu'elles peuvent favoriser des réactions entre deux molécules.
