Abstract

Disclosed is a water-blown methylene diphenylisocianate-based polyurethane foam for use in packaging of shock or vibration sensitive goods, and a process for its manufacture from a particular polyol composition. The polyurethane foam exhibits a broad shock/vibration attenuation profile rendering it especially suitable for packaging of light weight articles.

L'invention concerne une mousse de polyuréthane à base de diphénylisocyanate de méthylène, soufflée en présence d'eau et conçue pour emballer des produits sensibles aux chocs ou aux vibrations, ainsi qu'un procédé servant à la préparer à partir d'une composition particulière de polyol. Cette mousse de polyuréthane présente un large profil d'atténuation des chocs et des vibrations, ce qui la rend particulièrement adéquate pour emballer des articles légers.
