A method and an apparatus are provided for dynamic, real time adaptive focussing (600) for ultrasound imaging. Aberration delay correction values, corresponding to an aberration region in an imaged subject, are measured (601) concurrently during B-mode imaging scan lines and updated at the scan line rate. The measured aberration delay correction values (Ek, L, Rk) are then applied concurrently (560) to correct the focus of all transmitted and received ultrasound scan lines, regardless of the imaging mode, scan geometry, or imaging frequencies.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour une focalisation adaptative dynamique et en temps réel pour imagerie par ultrasons. Les valeurs de correction des aberrations dans les retards correspondant à une région d'aberrations dans le sujet visualisé sont mesurées d'une manière simultanée pendant le balayage des lignes en mode B et réactualisées à la vitesse des lignes de balayage. Les valeurs mesurées de correction des aberrations dans les retards sont alors appliquées simultanément pour corriger la focalisation de toutes les lignes de balayage d'ultrasons émises et reçues, quel que soit le mode de formation des images, la géométrie de balayage, ou les fréquences de formation des images.
