A control method permits the operation of multiple superconducting magnetic coils (1 and 2) so as to move a magnetic object to precisely specified locations within the body under command of a physician operator (10) observing the motion with live fluoroscopic imaging (20) fused with more detailed preoperative imaging of some other kind. A computer contains the preoperative images and fluoroscopic images, as well as the means to effect changes in the coil currents (81) so as to accomplish the desired magnetic object motion and positioning (82). The coils are operated in pairs on opposite sides of the body in a manner to minimize the necessary current changes, thus avoiding quenching of the superconducting coils. Combinations of these pairs can execute motion of the magnetic object in any direction in an impulsive manner and with high precision and should function well with coils that are not superconducting as well.

Procédé de commande permettant de faire fonctionner plusieurs bobines magnétiques supraconductrices (1 et 2) de manière à amener un objet magnétique sur un site précis à l'intérieur du corps selon des ordres donnés par le médecin opérateur (10) observant les mouvements à l'aide d'images fluoroscopiques (20) prises en direct et fusionnées avec diverses images plus détaillées prises avant l'intervention. Un ordinateur contient les images antérieures à l'intervention et les images fluoroscopiques et des moyens de faire varier les courants (81) des bobines afin d'exécuter les déplacements et positionnements (82) voulus. Le procédé de commande agit sur des paires de bobines situées de part et d'autre du corps de façon à réduire les variations nécessaire du courant et empêcher la suppression de l'effet de supraconduction dans les bobines. La combinaison de ces paires permet de déplacer l'objet magnétique dans toutes les directions, par impulsions et avec une grande précision. Le procédé devrait pouvoir également être appliqué avec des bobines non supraconductrices.
