In a reactor for water treatment of the type that contains particle-like carriers on which a biofilm grows that generates a desired decomposition of the contamination, a forced current is created such that the water in another current flows downwardly. In a special embodiment the upwardly flowing current is created in a tube. The reactor proves to be exceptionally effective and can be utilized together with other water purification and water treatment equipment. It is a distinctive feature that the downflowing current tears air down thus causing an exceptionally high oxygen concentration in the water. The reactor can furthermore be used for denitrification. Among other things the invention provides a minibiological purification plant servicing a single or very few households. As micro film carriers are preferably used, particles having an outwardly open cell structure for increasing the total effective surface area.

Dans un réacteur de traitement de l'eau du type contenant des supports particulaires sur lesquels se développe un biofilm générant une décomposition voulue des souillures, un courant forcé est créé de sorte que l'eau s'écoule vers le bas dans un autre courant. Dans un mode de réalisation particulier, un courant s'écoulant vers le haut est créé dans un tube. Le réacteur s'avère être exceptionnellement efficace et peut être utilisé avec un autre équipement de purification et de traitement de l'eau. On peut citer à titre de caractéristique distinctive le fait que le courant descendant qui entraîne l'air provoque ainsi la formation d'une concentration en oxygène exceptionnellement élevée dans l'eau. On peut également utiliser le réacteur à la dénitrification. Entre autres choses, l'invention fournit une installation de purification minibiologique desservant une ou plusieurs maisons. On utilise de préférence à titre de support de microfilms des particules présentant une structure cellulaire ouverte vers le bas afin d'augmenter l'aire de surface utile totale.
