In a tool-bit holder (1) for e.g. tool bits (3, 5) of cemented carbide or other hard material, in which the tool-bit holder has vibration-damping properties, the novel feature is that the tool-bit holder (1) in all essentials consists of a material, e.g. mild steel, with vibration-damping properties. The effect achieved is that the tool-bit holder may be made in one piece, in contrast to prior-art tool-bit holders consisting of two separate parts of e.g. tool steel with a tubular intermediate layer of rubber. The vibration-damping properties makes it possible to place the bits (3, 5) in a manner which would otherwise cause instability and consequent machining marks on the work-piece.

Dans un porte-outil (1) destiné, par exemple, à des outils (3, 5) constitués de carbure cémenté ou d'un autre matériau dur, ledit porte-outil présentant des propriétés d'amortissement des vibrations. La caractéristique de nouveauté réside dans le fait que ledit porte-outil (1) est essentiellement constitué d'un matériau, par exemple de l'acier doux, aux propriétés d'amortissement des vibrations. L'avantage obtenu est que le porte-outil peut être constitué d'une seule pièce, à la différence des porte-outils existants constitués de deux parties séparées, par exemple, en acier pour outil présentant une couche tubulaire intermédiaire en caoutchouc. Les propriétés d'amortissement des vibrations permettent de placer les outils (3, 5) d'une manière qui autrement provoquerait une instabilité et de ce fait la présence de marques d'usinage sur la pièce à usiner.
