Abstract

Catalyst comprising a refractory oxide carrier and as catalytically active metals between 2 and 15 % by weight of at least one Group VIII metal and between 5 and 40 % by weight of chromium, said weight percentages indicating the amount of metal based on the total weight of carrier, whereby chromium is present as an oxide and/or as a sulphide. The catalyst is particularly suitable for use in a process wherein a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising aromatic compounds is contacted with the catalyst at elevated temperature and pressure in the presence of hydrogen. The catalyst can be suitably prepared by incorporating the catalytically active metals into the refractory oxide carrier followed by drying and calcining.

L'invention concerne un catalyseur comprenant un support d'oxyde réfractaire et, sous forme de métaux actifs à action catalytique, de 2 à 15 % en poids d'au moins un métal du Groupe VIII et de 5 à 40 % en poids de chrome, lesdits pourcentages en poids correspondant à la quantité de métal en fonction du poids total du support, le chrome étant présent sous forme d'oxyde et/ou de sulfure. Le catalyseur est destiné à être utilisé notamment dans un procédé selon lequel une charge d'hydrocarbures comprenant des composés aromatiques est mise en contact avec le catalyseur à une température et à une pression élevées en présence d'hydrogène. Le catalyseur peut être préparé par adjonction des métaux catalytiquement actifs au support d'oxyde réfractaire, celui-ci étant par la suite soumis à une étape de séchage et de calcination.
