Abstract

The present invention provides an intravenous fluid flow regulator (10) for controlling the I.V. administration of medical fluid to a patient. The fluid flow regulator (10) provides a housing (12) having a top (18) and a bottom (20). A flexible diaphragm (14) is positioned within housing (12). A diaphragm holder (16) is provided inside housing (12) for holding a sealing edge (56) of flexible diaphragm (14) in fluid sealing engagement with diaphragm holder (16). The housing (12) and flexible diaphragm (14) define an inlet fluid reservoir (62) and an outlet fluid reservoir (64). The diaphragm holder (16) defines a by-pass fluid channel (54) from inlet fluid reservoir (62), around diaphragm (14), to outlet fluid reservoir (64). The flexible diaphragm (14) being flexible to alternatively move into inlet fluid reservoir (62) and outlet fluid reservoir (64) depending on a fluid pressure differential between inlet fluid reservoir (62) and outlet fluid reservoir (64).

La présente invention concerne un régulateur de débit (10) de fluide intraveineux, utilisé pour réguler le débit d'un fluide médical administré à un patient par voie intraveineuse. Le régulateur de débit (10) de fluide comporte un logement (12) présentant un haut (18) et un bas (20). Une membrane flexible (14) est positionnée dans le logement (12). On a prévu un support (16) pour la membrane à l'intérieur du logement (12) pour maintenir un bord d'étanchéité (56) de la membrane flexible (14) en contact étanche avec le support (16) de la membrane. Le logement (12) et la membrane flexible (14) définissent un réservoir à fluide d'entrée (62) et un réservoir à fluide de sortie (64). Le support (16) de la membrane définit un canal de dérivation (54) de fluide partant du réservoir à fluide d'entrée (62), passant autour de la membrane (14) et aboutissant au réservoir à fluide de sortie (64). La membrane flexible (14) est suffisamment flexible pour entrer alternativement dans le réservoir à fluide d'entrée (62) et dans le réservoir à fluide de sortie (64), selon la différence de pression du fluide entre le réservoir à fluide d'entrée (62) et le réservoir à fluide de sortie (64).
