An orientation-operated cursor control device having a housing which is hand-holdable by a user. The housing rotatably carries an orientation maintaining member (36) having a center of rotation which is offset from a center of gravity. An encoder (34a, 34b) generates input information for the computer (28) in response to relative rotation of the housing and orientation maintaining member (36).

L'invention concerne un dispositif de commande de curseur actionné selon son orientation et doté d'un boîtier qui peut tenir dans la main d'un utilisateur. Le boîtier est doté d'un élément de maintien de l'orientation, monté rotatif, dont le centre de rotation est décalé par rapport au centre de gravité. Un codeur génère des informations d'entrée pour l'ordinateur en réponse à la rotation relative du boîtier et de l'élément de maintien de l'orientation.
