Abstract

A photoionization detector for a gaschromatographic apparatus comprises an ionization chamber (4) provided with a polarizing electrode (5, 5') and a collector electrode (6, 6'), mounted on and heated by a base portion of the detector, and a lamp (2) with a window (3) spaced from the chamber (4) and mounted on the base portion through supporting means (12) having low thermal conductivity; a gas curtain of a gas that is transparent to the said lamp radiation being provided at least between the window and the ionization chamber (4) and comprising a first portion (A) of substantially still gas acting as thermal insulant and a second portion (B) of flowing gas also acting as sweep gas for the lamp window (3).

Détecteur à photo-ionisation pour appareil de chromatographie en phase gazeuse, comportant une chambre d'ionisation (4) pourvue d'une électrode polarisante (5, 5') et d'une électrode collectrice (6, 6') montées sur une partie inférieure du détecteur et chauffées par celle-ci, ainsi qu'une lampe (2) munie d'une fenêtre (3), écartée de la chambre (4) et montée sur la partie inférieure par l'intermédiaire d'un support (12) à faible conductivité thermique; un rideau gazeux composé d'un gaz transparent vis-à-vis du rayonnement de la lampe étant prévu au moins entre la fenêtre et la chambre d'ionisation (4), et comportant un premier volume (A) de gaz sensiblement immobile servant d'isolant thermique, et un second volume (B) de gaz en écoulement servant également de gaz de balayage pour la fenêtre (3) de la lampe.
