A pressure data validation method which measures differential pressure along with measuring the absolute pressure while testing a well. The method uses a differential pressure gauge having a known distance between the two differential pressure measuring gauges, wherein the pressure differential indicates fluid density. During the test, as each absolute pressure reading is taken, a differential pressure reading is also taken and this reading is used to determine the density of the fluid surrounding the gauge at the time of the measurement. Each measurement is compared to previous measurements, and a change in fluid density, and thus a change in the type of fluid, is displayed to indicate that any discontinuity in the pressure display is due to a fluid boundary.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de validation des données de pression par mesure de la pression différentielle et mesure de la pression absolue pendant les opérations de contrôle d'un puits. Le procédé utilise un manomètre différentiel dont on connaît la distance entre les deux manomètres du dispositif de mesure différentielle, la pression différentielle indiquant la densité du fluide. Pendant le contrôle, à chaque fois qu'une pression est mesurée, une pression différentielle est également mesurée, cette mesure servant à déterminer la densité du fluide entourant le manomètre à l'instant de la mesure. Chaque résultat est comparé aux résultats précédents, et toute modification de densité du fluide (et donc tout changement de type de fluide) s'affiche de façon à indiquer que l'éventuelle discontinuité de pression affichée est imputable à un franchissement d'interface de fluide.
