Abstract
(EN)
Novel polyester compositions, particularly suitable for the insulation of wires, contain an aromatic polyester, especially polybutylene terephthalate. The presence of certain tin (II) compounds, for example tin (II) oxide, oxalate, phthalate, pyromellitate, or phosphite, reduces the flammability and smoke generation of such compositions. The presence of an aliphatic polyester, and optionally a thermoplastic elastomer, can also improve the properties of such compositions.

Nouvelles compositions à base de polyesters convenant particulièrement à l'isolation de fils électriques contenant un polyester aromatique et en particulier un polybutylène téréphtalate. La présence de certains composés de l'étain (II), p. ex. d'oxyde, d'oxalate, de phtalate, de pyroméllitate ou de phosphite d'étain réduit l'inflammabilité et la production de fumée de ces compositions, tandis que la présence de polyester aliphatique, et la présence, facultative, d'un élastomère thermoplastique peuvent en améliorer les propriétés.
