Abstract

A uniaxially heat-shrinkable, biaxially oriented, multilayer film having a polypropylene-containing core layer comprising at least 70 wt.% of said multilayer film and at least one polyolefin-containing skin layer adjacent said core layer is prepared by biaxially orienting a coextrudate and thereafter orienting said coextrudate by stretching 10 to 40 % in the machine direction. The core layer contains isotactic polypropylene and a modifier which reduces the crystallinity of the polypropylene by increasing chain imperfections or reducing isotacticity of the polypropylene-containing core. Such modifiers can be selected from the group consisting of atactic polypropylene, syndiotactic polypropylene, ethylene-propylene copolymer, propylene-butylene copolymer, ethylene-propylene-butylene terpolymer, and linear low density polyethylene. The skin layer can be selected from the group consisting of polypropylene, ethylene-propylene copolymer, polyethylene, and ethylene-propylene-butylene terpolymer.

L'invention concerne une feuille multicouche thermorétractable uniaxialement et orientée biaxialement, comprenant une couche centrale contenant du polypropylène et comprenant au moins 70 % en poids de ladite feuille multicouche et au moins une couche superficielle contenant de la polyoléfine adjacente à ladite couche centrale. On prépare ladite feuille multicouche en orientant biaxialement un coextrudat, lequel est orienté par étirement de 10 à 40 % dans le sens de la machine. La couche centrale contient du polypropylène isotactique et un modificateur qui réduit la cristallinité du polypropylène en augmentant les imperfections de chaîne ou en réduisant l'isotacticité de la couche centrale contenant du polypropylène. Ces modificateurs peuvent être choisis dans le groupe comprenant polypropylène atactique, polypropylène syndiotactique, copolymère d'éthylène-propylène, copolymère de propylène-butylène, terpolymère d'éthylène-propylène-butylène, et polyéthylène linéaire basse densité. La couche superficielle peut être choisie dans le groupe comprenant polypropylène, copolymère d'éthylène-propylène, polyéthylène, et terpolymère d'éthylène-propylène-butylène.
